10 Simple Steps to Refresh Your Mind, Body and Spirit for a Fresh Start

Can you feel it in the air? It’s the perfect time for a fresh start! No matter where you are in the world, now is a great opportunity to clear out the clutter that’s been weighing you down - mentally, physically, emotionally and Energetically. Whether you’re feeling stuck, lost or simply ready for a positive change, these 10 simple steps will help you refresh your mind, body, heart and spirit so you can embrace all the new possibilities that are ahead for you.


1. Declutter Your Physical Space


Your surroundings have a direct impact on your Energy and mental clarity. Start by tidying up your living space, even if it’s just one small area at a time. Clear off your desk, organise a cupboard or make your bed. As you declutter one small space at a time, set an intention to remove any stagnant Energy along with the physical items. This is a powerful way to create space for new opportunities to flow into your life.

2. Clear Mental Blocks with a Brain Dump


Mental clutter can keep you from seeing the possibilities around you. Grab a journal and do a brain dump. Write down all your thoughts, worries and to-do lists. Once it’s all on paper, you’ll feel a sense of relief. Tear up that list if it’s full of worries or rewrite it in order of importance or deadlines so you can prioritise the tasks if that really need your attention.


3. Use Positive Affirmations for a Mindset Shift


Words have power, especially when it comes to changing your mindset. Use affirmations like "I am capable," "I welcome new opportunities," or "Of course I fucking can!" to shift from negative to positive thoughts. These simple phrases can help you reframe your perspective and align with the Energy of growth and renewal.

4. Ground Yourself with Nature


When your Energy feels scattered, take a moment to ground yourself. Find a tree or a patch of grass and imagine roots extending from your feet into the Earth. Feel the Energy of nature (I like to imagine a red or orange light) rising up through your feet and into your body, grounding you and giving you a sense of stability. This simple practice can help you feel more centred and connected.


5. Cleanse Your Energy with Smudging


We can unintentionally hold on to feelings, emotions or memories that are not great for our stability & momentum.  I call them an 'Energetic hangover'.  Cleansing your Energy of this fuckery is essential for letting go of what no longer serves you. Use a sage stick, palo santo or your favourite incense to smudge your living space. As you do, visualise the smoke carrying away any negative Energy, leaving your space clear and full of fresh, positive vibes.


6. Visualise Your Ideal Fresh Start


Visualisation is a powerful tool for manifesting your dreams. Imagine yourself at the start of a new path, filled with light and possibility. See yourself stepping into the life you desire, feeling confident, calm and ready to embrace all the opportunities ahead. Let this vision guide your next steps, even if it doesn't give you each forward movement in intricate detail.

7. Create a Daily Ritual for Energy Renewal


Staying connected to your Energy each day can help you feel more balanced and focused. Start your mornings with a simple ritual, like taking three deep breaths while imagining light flowing through and around your body. This daily practice will keep your Energy fresh and ready for whatever comes your way.


8. Declutter Your Emotional Baggage


Just like your physical space, your emotional state needs a good clearing out now and then. Reflect on the emotions that are no longer serving you.  Fear, resentment, anger, sadness and many like those are holding you back. Let them go. Replace them with feelings of gratitude, joy, determination and possibility to create space for new growth.


9. Set Intentions for the Season Ahead


This moment is all about new beginnings so take this opportunity to set some clear intentions. What do you want to achieve, feel or experience in this next chapter of your life? Write down your goals and visualise them coming to life. When you set your intentions, you create a roadmap that guides your actions and decisions.
